The plant will mass-produce ultra-large perovskite modules and building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) products, and as the line ramps up to full production, it is expected to produce about 1.8 million such modules annually.
In pilot production in November 2024, UtmoLight achieved a record 450 W power output with 16.1% efficiency on a 2.8m² perovskite module. The company is aiming for 20% efficiency in mass production by 2025.
UtmoLight operates a 4,500 m² perovskite R&D and innovation center. It started with a 150 MW pilot production line in December 2022. The company claims to have applied for more than 400 core patents out of which over 70% are invention patents.
UtmoLight says this GW factory will promote the large-scale application of perovskite modules in ground-mounted power stations, distributed generation PV, BIPV and other scenarios.
