It was said that the installed capacity of new energy and renewable energy in Datong City has reached 9.29 million kilowatts, accounting for 53.7% of the city's total installed power capacity. It has also focused on promoting the construction of a 6 million kilowatt new energy base project in the northern Shanxi coal mining subsidence area with a total investment of nearly 40 billion yuan. After it is put into operation, it will be able to supply 10 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region every year.
The local enterprises that have been put into production or are under construction have product ranges including energy storage system integration, sodium-ion battery negative electrode materials, lithium battery negative electrode materials and other aspects.
In addition, Datong has built 6 intelligent coal mines, 32 mines have reached the second-level safety production standards or above, and the advanced production capacity of coal mines accounts for more than 85%. After the Jinbei New Energy Base project implemented locally is completed and connected to the grid, Datong's total installed power capacity will reach 30 million kilowatts, and the annual power generation will reach nearly 110 billion kWh .
