Mellow Energy announces efficiency milestones for perovskite modules

China-based PV energy application development company Mellow Energy has announced that its perovskite-silicon 4-terminal tandem module, developed in collaboration with Zhuhai Hongjun New Energy, has successfully passed China Photovoltaic Testing Center (CPVT) certification. 

The module reprotedly achieved a front-side efficiency of 24.68% and a back-side efficiency of 18.87%. The company says that this module benefits from dual light-absorbing layers, with a theoretical efficiency limit of up to 45%.

Meanwhile, Mellow Energy’s 1.2 x 1.6 m² double-glass modules have reached a conversion efficiency of 18.16%, following a TÜV Rheinland certified 17.9%.
