Golden Solar New Energy Technology Holdings

Golden Solar New Energy Technology Holdings Limited (Originally Baofeng Modern International Holdings Company Limited) is an investment holdings company listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (Stock Code: 1121). 

Earlier on, Golden Solar’s subsidiary, Quanzhou Baofeng Shoes Co., Ltd. engaged in the manufacture and sale of slippers, flip-flops, sandals and casual footwear for Original Equipment Manufacturer customers and design and manufacture of slippers under its own brands of Boree and Baofeng in China.

The Company set out to transform its business model. In addition to completing the acquisition of technological know-how in graphene materials technology, Golden Solar has been selectively hiring scientists and researchers. The company had since then successfully commercialized the graphene materials technology and its application in footwears and air purification devices, and thus re-positioned itself from a traditional manufacturing company to a materials science company.

The Company is also involved in the field of solar technology. A new technology was developed in September 2020, in which cast-mono wafers are utilized to manufacture high efficiency Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thinlayer (“HJT”) cells (with conversion efficiency >24.0%). The calibration certificate for the HJT cells manufactured by the company was issued by Fujian Metrology Institute (National PV Industry Measurement and Testing Center) in December 2020. The Company then acquired casting furnaces in January 2021, thus officially initiated the manufacturing of Cast-mono silicon wafers.

In late 2023, the Company announced the launch of perovskite/hybrid BC tandem solar cells with a claimed conversion efficiency of 33.94%.
